Solution Combustion Analysis

Combustion Analysis DEWESOFT’s dynamic measurement and combustion analysis solution provides a complete and efficient platform for all types of internal combustion engines such as gasoline, diesel, ethanol, and hybrids. The system supports research, development, optimization, and testing of key subsystems such as ignition, exhaust, and valve-train actuation, and has been benchmarked against AVL and Kistler systems. With isolated SIRIUS hardware and DewesoftX software, it supports both angle-domain and time-domain analysis, using advanced algorithms to compute heat release and thermodynamic parameters online or in post-processing.

For real vehicle testing, the device flexibly connects to CAN, CAN FD, XCP/CCP, FlexRay, and direct sensors to acquire fully synchronized cycle-resolved combustion data. Integration with INCA via CAN forms a complete ECU calibration workflow. On test benches, the system becomes a core tool for computation, physical parameter visualization, and engine protection, supporting protocols such as Tornado, AVL Puma Open, and D2T, with easy channel list import/export.

The combustion analysis module includes functions such as firing order configuration, cylinder deactivation, per-cylinder zero correction, dual-variable gain, variable compression ratio, and high angular resolution down to 0.025°. Multiple analyzers can run in parallel, generating theoretical compression curves and automatically computing thermodynamic coefficients.

This platform supports the full range of engine R&D tasks including misfire detection, knock detection, friction analysis, injection/ignition analysis, valve timing, combustion noise & vibration, stress diagnostics, gas exchange analysis, exhaust processing, and engine mapping.
