Solution Electric Motor & Inverter Testing

Electric Motor & Inverter Testing Electric motor and inverter testing requires accurate measurement of both electrical and mechanical domains, and the DEWESOFT ecosystem enables full integration within a single platform. The system acquires voltage, current, torque, speed, torsional vibration, NVH, strain, and temperature, supporting multi-domain analysis in one software environment. As efficiency requirements rise and standards such as IEC 60034 become more stringent, loss determination becomes mandatory. DEWESOFT’s power analyzer, combined with current sensor calibration and modular hardware, ensures high accuracy for motors up to 12 phases and for all mechanical parameters.

Inverter analysis is also implemented comprehensively. The system supports configurations up to seven AC phases, evaluating from fundamental frequencies as low as 0.5 Hz up to switching frequencies in the hundreds of kHz. Raw data storage enables observation of individual switching pulses, transient analysis, and automatic THD and harmonic calculations. When combining motor and inverter tests, the system can measure eight sets of 3-phase signals simultaneously, synchronizing mechanical data, GPS, IMU, video, and CAN. This supports full observation of four-quadrant operation and generator states in both forward and reverse directions.

Motor optimization based on efficiency maps helps reduce energy consumption, extend lifetime, and detect torque ripple. DEWESOFT additionally provides vector scope, FFT, transient logging, dU/dt analysis, and mechanical power calculation tools. The software includes visual wiring diagrams, flexible frequency source selection, and automatic electrical calculations, ensuring complete analysis of electrical power, mechanical output, and inverter operation under all conditions.
